Wimberley Arts Fest 2022!
The Festival!
SATURDAY, APRIL 30 10AM TO 5PM AND SUNDAY, May 1, 11AM TO 4PM
WHAT TO EXPECT
You’ll arrive in Wimberley via Ranch Road 12 and pull into The Waters Point Retreat near the Blanco River. You will be able to park on the grounds and golf carts with happy drivers will pick you up and deposit you closer to the festival happenings. Entry into the festival is free. On-Site parking is $10.Other near-by parking is free with shuttle service to the festival.
You’ll see about 100 booths nestled among the pecan trees and cabins. Great effort is made to intermix the art so you will see a large variety of media. All the exhibiting artists are selected by invitation and all of them are experienced and talented. Some come from neighboring states and regions. About 25% are local artists.
Food truck aromas will beckon you to relax and have a picnic overlooking the river. A beer and wine booth will help you enjoy your picnic even more. Live music plays continuously and there will be chairs set up for you to rest and listen as you take breaks between art shopping. Only well-behaved dogs on leashes are permitted on the grounds.
It’s a great way to enjoy the Texas Hill Country and Wimberley, “a little bit of heaven.”
FINDING YOUR WAY AROUND WIMBERLEY ARTS FEST
ARTS FEST HAS A LONG TRADITION
What started as a small exhibit of local Wimberley Valley Art League artists around Wimberley Square has grown in size and reputation.
After a few years of taking over Wimberley Square, Arts Fest was moved to Blue Hole Regional Park. This lovely setting by Cypress Creek and our famous Blue Hole swimming site served us well for many years.
In 2017, we moved again to a fabulous resort along the Blanco River, just off Ranch Road 12. Called Waters Point Retreat at Rio Bonito, this resort offers plenty of parking and open, shaded fields for artist booths and 50% more display area. There is a great space for our musicians, cabins that can be rented so artists can stay close by, picnic areas for eating, and the views cannot be beat. This resort is seen from our main artery through town (Ranch Road 12), so it offers the opportunity to lure in visitors as they travel into Wimberley. We could not be more excited about our venue!
Wimberley Arts Fest is a production of the Wimberley Valley Art League, whose purpose is to promote the arts and artists in Wimberley and the Central Hill Country of Texas. We are a very active group with over 200 artist/members.
